Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph: The most desirable Offshore
Royal Oak Offshore features a bold and muscular design and adding a Chronograph feature to it just makes it even sportier. The Chronograph function allows the wearer to measure elapsed time. It is operated by two push buttons on the side of the case, and the elapsed time is displayed on sub-dials at the 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions.
Over the years, Audemars Piguet has released a number of variations of the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph. Some of the most popular variations include the following:
Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Juan Pablo Montoya Limited Edition
Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 25th Anniversary
Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Rose Gold
Royal Oak Offshore Titanium: Making things light
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore gets a rugged design. While this offers a distinctive look for the watch, it makes it heavier than most other watches. Due to this, one of the materials used in the Royal Oak Offshore collection is titanium. Titanium is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal known for its strength and durability.
Most of these watches take advantage of Grade 5 titanium, a high-quality alloy used in the aerospace and medical industries. It is also hypoallergenic, making it a good choice for people with sensitive skin.
Royal Oak Offshore Titanium is available in a variety of combinations. While there is a reference that comes with a Titanium bracelet and a case, most of the others get a Titanium case and a rubber bracelet.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Carbon
Speaking of lightweight materials, Audemars Piguet also used carbon in some of its Royal Oak Offshore watches. Though it is not a patriot of the company’s current Royal Oak Offshore portfolio, it was once used in some of these watches. Carbon is a strong and lightweight material often used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
One of the most popular references to come with a Carbon case was the Royal Oak Offshore 26400AU.OO.A002CA.01. The timepiece featured a carbon case paired with a ceramic bezel and a rubber strap. It offers a unique, sporty appearance and makes it lightweight and comfortable to wear.

The story behind Royal Oak Offshore
Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak in 1972. Designed by Gerald Charles, the watch was highly appreciated among watch enthusiasts. AP took two major risks at the time of releasing the watch.
For one, they offered a stainless steel watch at a time when luxury and precious metals were going hand-in-hand in the watch industry. Secondly, the mechanical watch was released during the time of the Quartz crisis. Nevertheless, the watch was very well received and is currently one of the most regarded models in the industry.
After over 20 years, Audemars Piguet decided to take its next challenge with the Royal Oak Offshore in 1993. It was designed to be a more rugged and sporty version of the original Royal Oak. It was larger and more heavily built than the original. Royal Oak Offshore carried a more masculine design.
AP Royal Oak Offshore Automatic
AP Royal Oak Offshore is mostly offered with automatic movement. There are Quartz versions that are served in the 37mm Royal Oak Offshore Lady lineup. However, all the models with case size 42mm and above come with a self-winding automatic movement.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver
Audemars Piguet designed the Royal Oak Offshore with those in mind who want to push the boundaries. The rugged watch also comes in a Diver version that has been optimized for deep-sea diving. These watches do look like the regular Royal Oak Offshore but they have a small change.
These watches do not get a rotatable bezel on the outside but it is placed cyanide in the sapphire crystal. It allows AP to still use the octagonal bezel with exposed screws, which is what makes it an Audemars Piguet. In order to control the rotatable bezel, AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver watches get a separate crown at 10 o’clock.
In addition to that, the Diver watches come with 300 meters of water resistance in opposition to the 100 meters seen on the regular Royal Oak Offshore watches.
